Implants

MISSING TEETH? YOU’RE NOT ALONE!

Dental implants offer a permanent solution for patients who have had experienced tooth loss. These are new synthetic teeth that are implanted directly into the jaw. They have a high record of success compared to other substitution services, and are the most frequently recommended by dentists.

WHO CAN GET DENTAL IMPLANTS?

Dental implants are long-term replacements and, when properly cared for, they can last a lifetime. They are fashioned in two parts: the titanium-based “root” and a ceramic crown.

The titanium root anchors directly into the jaw, which helps to prevent bone degradation and maintain the structure of the jaw. Attached to the top of the titanium root is the ceramic crown, which works like a real tooth.

SOME OF THE BENEFITS INCLUDE:                                                    WHAT ARE THEY?

1.  A natural looking smile                                                                 1.  Are in good general health
2.  Retention of a natural facial structure                                      2.  Have sufficient bone in the jaw
3.  No loss of chewing efficiency                                                      3.  Have healthy gums
4.  Speech remains the same                                                            4.  Do not smoke

THE PROCEDURE

Installing the implants takes two simple steps. During the first phase, the dentist makes an incision in the gums and secures the implant in the bone. As the gums around the titanium “root” begin to heal, the implant will become part of the patient’s bone structure.

After 3 to 6 months, the patient will return for a follow-up where several impressions will be made. Using these molds, a customized crown will be created. After checking for fit and color, the ceramic crown is secured to the implant, providing patients with an aesthetic and functional replacement.
